Choosing a Yacht Type

Which type of yacht is best for your vacation?

Yacht choices range from traditional sailing yachts (monohulls), sailing catamarans, power catamarans, motor yachts, and luxury mega yachts. This type of vacation is a little more than just picking the right type of vessel but also in matching the perfect crew for your experience. Our charter concierges know every crew and vessel in our fleet and look forward to discussing different options with you online or over the phone. Here’s some quick information to get you started…

The first choice is really sail or power. If the journey is as important as the island destination, and a slower pace is what you’re looking for, either type of sailing yacht might be a good choice. Sailing Monohulls offer the exhilaration of heeling to the side, while Sailing Catamarans offer much more living space. Sailing can still be brisk and exciting…but without the leaning you can more easily move around the yacht and less chance to spill your cocktails.

If the island itinerary is more important than frolicking along the way, then possibly a motor yacht or Mega Yacht is a better choice. These yachts typically have larger crews and will be more formal. From classic restored yachts to luxurious contemporary beauties, each will have 5 Star service. These types of charters also comes with the associated fuel charge, so it’s best to contact one of our team to discuss the details.

You may not know exactly what you want at this point…and that’s perfectly fine. After a quick conversation, we can help you decide what’s most important to you. Our agents have been in the industry for many years with excellent reviews from our clients. And with over 300 yachts in our fleet we are able to find a Caribbean charter yacht to meet every budget, and exceed every expectation.
